Young Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a disinherited French aristocrat and painter, down on his luck in the love department. He becomes a candidate for intervention by the muses (The DRAGONFLIES). Who would like to spirit him away on a flight of fancy to inspire him to become an innovator and inspiration to millions during and long after his death.
Artemisia
Princess Artemisia el Desher, top general of the DRAGONFLIES Unit within the Green Fairy Syndicate, of royal lineage. She is the older sister of Lucien and Fabien, by a few thousand years. The unsteady, distractable, and easily swayed minds of humans has become her playground. Her game is deadly, and she is playing for keeps.
Lucien
Lucien el Desher, a particularly idealistic member of the DRAGONFLIES Unit within the Green Fairy Syndicate. His passion for humanity and innovative way of thinking, unsuspectingly propel him into the center of a deadly covert war being waged over the sovereignty of human volition.
Fabién
Fabien el Desher, the twin sister of Lucien and one of the most adept high-ranking technicians of the DRAGONFLIES Unit.
She is not one for receiving praise, however. She is also far more consumed with the minutia of executing her work than she is about the big picture of what her work is used for. And much rather receive a few vacation days over being lauded for how many humans her work has helped.
Vega
Dutchess Vega, daughter of Princess Artemisia the top general of the DRAGONFLIES Unit of the Green Fairy Syndicate.
She is one of the most highly trained and adept members of the Green Fairy Syndicate. She is an efficient assassin, and loyalty is her north star.
Fela
Young Fela Kuti, a fun-loving libertine musician of Nigerian origin, who will later become the founder of a style of music called Afrobeat.

Frida
Young Frida Khalo, a passionate young painter of Mexican/German origin.
While convalescing from a life threating road accident in Mexico City, she searches for inspiration and mental escape from incessant physical pain and immobility. Both her painting style and her resilience signal her potential to eventually inspire millions... making her a prime candidate to be spirited away by the DRAGONFLIES Unit on a flight into the future.

Ramses Desher, founder of the DRAGONFLIES Unit and the Green Fairy Syndicate.
The only Earthbound child of Wormwood the Chemist... conceived during the Consciousness Wars.
His mandate and purpose is to maintain balance and order between humans and all other beings on planet Earth.
